Membership Signups Report

The Membership Signups report shows how many new memberships started in a date range, broken down by plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual). It’s the report to open when you want to answer “how many new Pro members did we get last month” or “which plan is driving the most signups this quarter”.

Where to Find It

Sign in as an admin and navigate to Admin → Reports → Membership Signups. The report is visible to any role that holds the Manage Memberships permission — the same role that grants and comps memberships.

What the Report Shows

Each row in the By plan table shows:

• Plan — the membership plan name
• Total Signups — every new membership that started in the date range
• Monthly — signups on the monthly billing cycle
• Annual — signups on the annual billing cycle
• Non-Billing — signups without a billing cycle (admin grants, gifts, staff comps). Only shown when the Include admin grants toggle is on.

A summary card above the table shows the total signup count across all plans for the selected range.

Add-ons

Below the plans, the Add-ons table counts, for each add-on, what members did with it in the date range:

• Add-on — the add-on’s name. Rows are sorted by name.
• Added — how many were added, at signup or later from the member’s Membership page or by an admin.
• Ended — how many ended in the range: removed by the member or an admin, ended by a plan change, or ended with the membership.
• Held at end — how many members had it on the last day of the range.

What a plan includes or requires as part of the plan isn’t counted, so moving members between plans doesn’t inflate the numbers. A required add-on that is waiting for a scheduled downgrade to start is counted once it starts.

The Include admin grants toggle applies here too: when it’s off, only add-ons on memberships that went through checkout are counted. When nothing happened to any add-on in the range, the table says No add-on changes in this period. If add-ons changed but no one signed up, the plan table says No signups in this period. and the add-ons table still shows.

Filters

• Date range (required) — defaults to the last 30 days. Dates are interpreted in your makerspace’s local timezone.
• Include admin grants (toggle, off by default) — when off, the report only counts self-service signups that went through checkout (PAYMENT grants). When on, the report includes admin grants, promotional grants, gifts, and staff comps, and surfaces an extra By grant type breakdown block.

Tip

Leave the Include admin grants toggle off when you want to measure the self-service signup funnel — it’s the cleanest signal for “are people finding and buying memberships on their own”. Turn it on when you’re reconciling against your CRM or doing a year-end membership audit and need the full picture.

Exporting to CSV

The Export CSV button downloads the by-plan table and the add-ons table with the same filters applied. The CSV columns are stable across both filter modes: when Include admin grants is off, the Non-Billing column is left blank rather than dropped, so spreadsheets that build automation on the export don’t break when you flip the toggle.

After the plan rows, the CSV has one blank line and a second block for the add-ons, with the columns Add-on, Added, Ended and Held at end. The header row is written even when no add-on changed, so the file always has the same shape.

The first column of the CSV is headed Plan. Exports downloaded before membership tiers were renamed to plans used the header Tier, so if a spreadsheet or script looks up that column by name, update it to Plan.

The exported file is named like membership-signups-2026-04-01-2026-04-30.csv.

CSV export uses the same Manage Memberships permission as the on-screen report — if you can see it, you can export it.

Unlike the class reports, Membership Signups does not use a separate View Reports / Run Reports split. The product decision: this report is part of the membership-management surface, not a general-purpose report audit tool, so it inherits the permission that already grants the rest of the membership workflow.

Data Scope

Like every report, the data is scoped to your makerspace automatically — you can never see another makerspace’s signup data, even if you hold Platform Admin elsewhere. The scoping happens on the server, not in the UI.

Empty States

If your filter combination returns zero signups, the report shows an empty state with the filters you applied. The most common cause is a date range that lands before your first paying member signed up, or a window that ends in the future before any signups have happened.
