Gift Card Performance Report
The Gift Card Performance report gives makerspace admins insight into how gift cards are being sold and used. It shows preset denominations sold, the preset-vs-custom split, and how much of the issued value has been redeemed.
Where to Find It
Section titled “Where to Find It”Sign in as an admin and navigate to Admin → Reports → Gift Card Performance.
What the Report Shows
Section titled “What the Report Shows”Summary Metrics
Section titled “Summary Metrics”At the top of the report, a row of stat cards shows totals for the selected date range:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Gift Cards Issued | Total number of gift cards created in the date range |
| Issued Value | Total dollar value of all cards issued |
| Redeemed Value | Total dollar value used from cards issued in the range |
| Redemption Rate | Redeemed value ÷ issued value, as a percentage |
The redemption rate answers “of the value we issued this period, how much has been used?” A redemption rate well below 100% is normal in any given window — cards issued recently may not have been redeemed yet.
Preset vs. Custom Split
Section titled “Preset vs. Custom Split”Two stat cards show how many cards and how much value were purchased using a preset denomination vs. a custom amount:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Preset | Cards where the buyer chose one of the admin-configured preset amounts |
| Custom | Cards where the buyer entered their own amount |
Cards issued before the preset-vs-custom marker was added (legacy codes from before this feature) appear as Legacy / Unknown and are reported separately. They are excluded from the split denominator so they don’t skew the ratio.
Breakdown by Denomination
Section titled “Breakdown by Denomination”A table shows per-preset-amount detail for cards purchased with a preset denomination:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Amount | The preset denomination (e.g., $25, $50, $100) |
| Cards Sold | Number of cards at this denomination |
| Value | Total value of cards at this denomination |
This tells you which preset denominations sell most, so you can tune your preset list.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Date range | Required. Scopes issued cards to cards created in the range. The report uses the date the card was issued (not the date it was redeemed), so a card issued in Q1 and redeemed in Q2 appears in the Q1 date range. |
Exporting to CSV
Section titled “Exporting to CSV”Click Export CSV to download a spreadsheet version of the full report — including every denomination row, split totals, and the legacy-unknown count. The exported file is named like gift-card-performance-2026-01-01-2026-03-31.csv.
CSV export requires the Run Reports permission. Viewing the on-screen report only requires View Reports.

Data Scope
Section titled “Data Scope”The report is automatically scoped to your makerspace. You can never see another makerspace’s gift card data.
- Low redemption rate? A low rate in a short window is often just lag — members take time to use cards after receiving them. Compare the rate for a 90-day range vs. a 30-day range to see the trend.
- Preset preference? If the custom-amount count is high relative to presets, consider whether your preset list covers the most common amounts buyers want.
- Legacy / Unknown cards in the report are codes issued before the preset-vs-custom tracking marker was introduced. They redeem normally; they’re just excluded from the split so they don’t distort it.
