Create Your Account
Esta página aún no está disponible en tu idioma.
You create your MakerVera account from your makerspace’s sign-up page. Your account belongs to you, and you sign in with the same email address and password at every makerspace you join.
Signing up
Section titled “Signing up”- Open your makerspace’s sign-up page. Your makerspace’s website or staff can give you the link. It usually ends in
/register. - Fill in your details: your name, email address, a password, and any other details your makerspace asks for.
- Click Create Account.
- Check your email for a 6-digit verification code and enter it under Verification Code.
- Click Verify Account, then sign in.
If the code doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder, then click Didn’t receive a code? Resend.
Password rules
Section titled “Password rules”Your password must:
- be 8 to 128 characters long;
- include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number;
- not start or end with a space.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”What happens after you verify depends on how your makerspace accepts new people:
| Your makerspace is… | The page says | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Account Created! | You can sign in and use the makerspace straight away. |
| Approval required | Request Submitted! | An admin reviews your request. Until it’s approved, signing in shows Account Pending Approval. |
| Invite only | ”This makerspace is invite-only.” | You can’t sign up yourself. Ask the makerspace for an invitation. |
Already have an account?
Section titled “Already have an account?”If you already have a MakerVera account, for example from another makerspace, don’t create a new one. The sign-up page tells you An account with this email already exists. Click Sign In to Join (or Go to Sign In) and sign in with your existing email address and password to join this makerspace.
If one makerspace deletes your account there, you’re removed from that makerspace only. You keep signing in to every other makerspace you belong to with the same email address and password.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“Password must be 8 to 128 characters…”
Your password doesn’t meet the password rules. Choose a different one and try again.
“We couldn’t accept these details.”
Check that your email address is typed correctly and that your phone number includes the country code (for example, +1 for the US and Canada).
“Account sign-up is temporarily unavailable.”
Sign-up is briefly busy or down. Wait a few minutes and try again.
“This makerspace is invite-only.”
The makerspace only accepts people it invites. Contact the makerspace and ask for an invitation.
The page says “Registration Temporarily Unavailable”.
The makerspace isn’t accepting new accounts right now. Use the Contact button on that page to reach the makerspace.
“An account with this email already exists”, but I never finished signing up.
This happens when you started signing up earlier but didn’t enter the verification code. The page shows a hint for this case. Try these in order:
- Check your email for the verification code from your first attempt, including your spam or junk folder.
- Sign in with the email address and the password you chose when you signed up. MakerVera sends you a new verification code and asks for it before you continue.
- Sign up again after 15 minutes. If you can’t remember the password, wait 15 minutes from your first attempt and fill in the sign-up form again. Your unfinished sign-up is replaced, and a new verification code is sent to your email.
If you finished signing up before, the account is real: sign in with your existing password, or reset your password if you’ve forgotten it.
The verification code is invalid or has expired.
Click Didn’t receive a code? Resend to get a new code, and use the most recent one.
I verified my email, but the makerspace doesn’t show up when I sign in.
You join the makerspace when you verify your email, not when you fill in the form. If the makerspace stopped accepting new accounts in between (for example, it reached its account limit), your sign-in works but you aren’t added. Contact the makerspace. Once it has room, open its sign-up page again and click Sign In to Join.
