This guide helps members and guests find events and classes, understand pricing, and complete registration.
Finding Events
Section titled “Finding Events”Events Page
Section titled “Events Page”The main Events page shows:
- Featured Events - Highlighted upcoming offerings
- Learning Paths - Structured course progressions (if available)
- View All Listings - Browse the complete directory
Class & Event Directory
Section titled “Class & Event Directory”Click View All Listings to access the full directory with:
- All available classes and events
- Filtering and sorting options
- Grid or calendar view
Browsing Options
Section titled “Browsing Options”Grid View
Section titled “Grid View”See events as cards showing:
- Event title and image
- Next available session date
- Spots remaining
- Pricing
- Skill level
Calendar View
Section titled “Calendar View”View events on a calendar:
- Month view - See the full month at a glance
- Week view - Focus on the upcoming week
- Day view - Detailed daily schedule
Click any event on the calendar to see details.
Filtering Events
Section titled “Filtering Events”Narrow down your search using filters:

Sorting Events
Section titled “Sorting Events”Change the order of results:

| Alphabetical | A-Z by title |
| Price | Lowest to highest |
Understanding Event Listings
Section titled “Understanding Event Listings”Each event listing shows:
- Title - Name of the event or class
- Next Session - When the next available session occurs
- Spots Available - How many openings remain
- Price - Cost to register (may show member vs public pricing)
- Skill Level - Difficulty or experience needed
Registering for a Single-Session Event
Section titled “Registering for a Single-Session Event”For one-time workshops:
Step 1: Select the Event
Section titled “Step 1: Select the Event”Click on the event to open its registration page.
Step 2: Choose a Session
Section titled “Step 2: Choose a Session”If multiple sessions are available, select from the dropdown:
- See date and time for each option
- Check spots available
- Verify the location
Step 3: Review Details
Section titled “Step 3: Review Details”The “Reserve Your Spot” section shows:
- Session date and time
- Location (workspace or off-site address)
- Spots available
- Price (member or public rate)
Step 4: Register
Section titled “Step 4: Register”- Click Register Now (or “Register - Free” for free events)
- Review the confirmation popup
- Click Confirm Registration or Pay & Register
- See the success message
You’ll receive a confirmation email with event details.
Registering for a Multi-Session Course
Section titled “Registering for a Multi-Session Course”For classes that meet multiple times:
Step 1: Select the Course
Section titled “Step 1: Select the Course”Click on the course to open its registration page.
Step 2: Choose a Cohort
Section titled “Step 2: Choose a Cohort”You’ll see available cohorts (class sections) with:
- Cohort name (e.g., “Spring 2024” or “Tuesday Evenings”)
- Date range - When the course runs
- Number of sessions - How many classes are included
- Spots available
- Price (may vary by cohort)
Select the cohort that fits your schedule.
Step 3: Understand What You’re Registering For
Section titled “Step 3: Understand What You’re Registering For”When you register for a multi-session course:
- You’re enrolling in all sessions within that cohort
- You’ll attend each session (e.g., 4 Tuesdays in a row)
- One registration covers the entire course
Step 4: Complete Registration
Section titled “Step 4: Complete Registration”- Click Register Now
- Review the confirmation showing all included sessions
- Confirm and pay (if applicable)
- Receive confirmation with your full schedule
Member vs Public Pricing
Section titled “Member vs Public Pricing”Two Price Tiers
Section titled “Two Price Tiers”Most events have two prices:

| Member Price | Logged-in makerspace members |
| Public Price | Non-members and guests |
Seeing Your Price
Section titled “Seeing Your Price”- Logged in as member: You see the member price
- Not logged in: You see the public price with a note about member savings
Getting Member Pricing
Section titled “Getting Member Pricing”To get member pricing:
- Make sure you have an active membership
- Log in to your account before registering
- The member price will appear automatically
Prerequisites and Requirements
Section titled “Prerequisites and Requirements”Some events require prerequisites:
Certification Requirements
Section titled “Certification Requirements”If you see a prerequisites banner:
- The event requires specific certifications
- You cannot register until you complete them
- Click to see what certifications are needed
How to Meet Prerequisites
Section titled “How to Meet Prerequisites”- Note which certifications are required
- Find and complete those certification courses first
- Return to register for your desired event
Registration Restrictions
Section titled “Registration Restrictions”You may see messages if:

| Already Registered | You’re signed up for this event |
| Cohort Full | No spots available (join waitlist if offered) |
| Prerequisites Required | Complete required certifications first |
| Instructor Cannot Register | You’re assigned to teach this session |
Waitlists
Section titled “Waitlists”If an event is full and has a waitlist:
- Click Join Waitlist
- You’ll be added to the queue
- If a spot opens, you’ll be notified
- Register quickly when notified before the spot fills again
Cancellation and Refunds
Section titled “Cancellation and Refunds”Standard Refund Policy
Section titled “Standard Refund Policy”- 100% refund - Cancel up to 24 hours before the event
- Check specific event details for any different policies
How to Cancel
Section titled “How to Cancel”Contact the makerspace administration to cancel your registration.
After You Register
Section titled “After You Register”Confirmation Email
Section titled “Confirmation Email”You’ll receive an email with:
- Event title and description
- Date, time, and location
- Any materials to bring
- Contact information
Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”If enabled, you may receive:
- Pre-event reminder - 24-48 hours before
- Day-of reminder - Morning of the event
Finding Your Registrations
Section titled “Finding Your Registrations”Check your account to see all events you’re registered for.
Tips for Successful Registration
Section titled “Tips for Successful Registration”Plan Ahead
Section titled “Plan Ahead”- Popular events fill up fast
- Register early for the best selection
- Check prerequisites before planning your schedule
Check Your Schedule
Section titled “Check Your Schedule”- Verify you can attend all sessions (for multi-session courses)
- Note the location and travel time
- Set your own reminders
Come Prepared
Section titled “Come Prepared”- Review any materials sent in confirmation
- Bring required items (safety glasses, laptop, etc.)
- Arrive a few minutes early
